Highest DumpWith the increased number of people traveling to Everest there is a growing amount of trash. Everything from food wrappers, climbing gear, oxygen cylinders, and sadly enough dead bodies. Due to the cold temperatures all the waste cannot biodegrade. Since the first major expeditions traveling to Everest there has been predicted fifty tons of trash left behind on the mountain. Many mountaineering associations have been upset with the amount of inexperienced climbers have been leaving their trash behind on the higher parts of the mountain. This is so they can save energy and make it back to Base Camp alive. Between Sherpa and other well known climbers there has been an effort to clean up Everest.
