Welcome to my Senior Thesis Project
Welcome to my Senior Thesis page, here you will find the research I have collected through reading, interviewing and experiencing everything that I could regarding my topic. My passion for my topic was driven by my love for the mountains. Growing up in Vermont and having a history of climbers in my family was the main drive for my love and passion of the mountains. My Aunt and Grandfather, two accomplished climbers, have influenced me the most regarding my time in the mountains. My Aunt, a Utah native, was an accomplish lead sport climber but sadly ended her climbing career due to a tragic fall while on lead. Although after her fall she did make a few alpine ascents in the Himalayas. My Grandfather, an ambitious freshman at Yale, hitch hiked across America from New Haven, CT only spending a $1.68 and living off tomato soup made out of ketchup packets to meet up with his climbing partners in the Wind Rivers of Wyoming. Since I can remember I have spent all my free time in the mountains with my family. Whether its a quick twenty mile day hike or an all day multi pitch climb, one can always find me outside. My passion for Everest began when my Aunt began making her trips to Nepal. She always returned with hundreds of pictures and stories and it made me want to know more. I spent a lot of my younger years reading and watching anything I could about the mountain. I hope you enjoy my research!
